skincare

Our skin is our largest organ, and it is exposed to a variety of environmental factors every day. That's why it's so important to take care of it properly.
When it comes to skincare, there are so many products out there that it can be overwhelming. But don't worry, I'm here to help! Here are some general skincare recommendations that I would give to anyone looking to improve their skin health:

Here are my top skincare recommendations

Cleanser: Start your skincare routine with a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils.
Look for a product that is sulfate-free and contains hydrating ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid.
CeraVe Cream to Foam CleanserOne-step skin care for daily facial cleansing, face and eye makeup removal while providing long-lasting hydration. Gently removes dirt, excess oil, and even long-wear makeup and daily SPF sunscreen residue.
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser: This fragrance-free, non-comedogenic cleanser is formulated with thermal water to soothe and hydrate the skin. It effectively cleanses the skin without leaving it feeling tight or dry. Great daily face wash for normal to dry sensitive skin.

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser-Daily face wash with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin to help hydrate skin without stripping moisture. Removes face makeup, dirt, and excess oil, provides 24-hour hydration and leaves a moisturized, non-greasy feel.

Moisturizer: As you age, your skin's natural moisture barrier starts to break down, so it's essential to use a good moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. Look for a moisturizer that contains ingredients like ceramides, niacinamide, or hyaluronic acid to help plump up your skin and restore its natural moisture balance.

-Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream: This fragrance-free moisturizer is packed with powerful anti-aging ingredients like niacinamide, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump up the skin. It's also lightweight and non-greasy, making it perfect for everyday use.

-Cetaphil Daily Hydrating Lotion: This gentle, fragrance-free lotion is perfect for those with sensitive skin. It's formulated with hyaluronic acid and glycerin to help hydrate and soothe the skin, and it also contains vitamin E to help protect against free radical damage.

-Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel: This lightweight, oil-free moisturizer contains hyaluronic acid to provide intense hydration to the skin. It's also non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog your pores, making it a great option for those with oily or acne-prone skin.

-Clinique Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator: This gel-cream moisturizer provides long-lasting hydration to the skin, thanks to its unique auto-replenishing technology. It's also oil-free and non-comedogenic, making it suitable for all skin types.

Sunscreen: Sun damage is one of the biggest contributors to premature aging, so make sure you're using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day. Look for a product that contains antioxidants like vitamin C or vitamin E to help protect your skin from free radical damage.
-EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen: This lightweight, oil-free sunscreen is perfect for daily use, as it provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays. It's also formulated with niacinamide and hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and soothe the skin.
-La Roche-Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Fluid Facial Sunscreen: This non-greasy sunscreen is perfect for those with oily or acne-prone skin. It provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays and is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.

-Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen: This clear, lightweight sunscreen goes on smoothly and provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays. It's also formulated with antioxidant-rich ingredients like vitamin E and B5 to help protect against free radical damage.

Retinoids:
Retinoids are a type of vitamin A that can help improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone. Start with a lower concentration and use it every other night to avoid irritation. Retinoids can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so it's important to use sunscreen during the day.
RoC Retinol Wrinkle serum: This retinol cream contains a blend of retinol and antioxidants to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging. It's also non-comedogenic, making it suitable for those with oily or acne-prone skin.
CeraVe Retinol Serum- With encapsulated retinol, this serum helps skin look smoother and more even-toned. Pore-minimizing serum for the face helps refine skin’s texture over time and helps visibly reduce the appearance of post-acne marks.

Antioxidants: Antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin E can help protect your skin from environmental damage and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Look for a serum or moisturizer that contains antioxidants and use it in the morning after cleansing.

Eye Cream: The skin around your eyes is thinner and more delicate than the rest of your face, so it's important to use a good eye cream to keep it hydrated and prevent fine lines and wrinkles. Look for a product that contains peptides or caffeine to help improve the appearance of dark circles and puffiness.

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Hyaluronic Acid + Caffeine Hydrating Eye Serum - Formulated with Pure Hyaluronic Acid and Caffeine to hydrate and revitalize tired eyes, featuring a unique Triple Roller applicator with three cooling, stainless steel balls for a full eye contour massage

Retinol Correxion Daily Eye Cream- Address 3 major eye concerns - puffiness, dark circles & wrinkles - with RoC Eye Cream.

If it's been more than 7 days and the symptoms are getting worse, then it's recommended to see the doctor.  Children under 6 years of age,  stay tuned for future posts.  -Get plenty of rest -Drink plenty of fluids -Use a humidifier to relieve congestion by adding moisture to the air.  -Take over-the-counter (OTC) medications: OTC medications, such as pain relievers, decongestants, and cough suppressants, can help relieve symptoms. However, it's important to read labels carefully and only take medication as directed. Here are the common ingredients to look for in cough/cold medicine 1) Headache, Fever - Acetaminophen (Tylenol) 2) Muscle Aches—  Ibuprofen ( Advil ) I often recommend alternating the two drugs ...
